
Acerbi Federica
Researcher
Federica Acerbi is an Assistant Professor in the SoM Manufacturing Group of Politecnico di Milano (Italy) at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering.
She developed her PhD research at Politecnico di Milano in both academic and industrial contexts with attention towards sustainable operations management in manufacturing. Her research focuses on data and information valorisation enabling the embracement of circular economy strategies and principles by manufacturing companies. She is involved in European and national research projects. She is also involved in industrial consultancy projects facilitating the twin transition of manufacturing companies. She is lecturer for two master courses at Politecnico di Milano: Operations Management and Digital Manufacturing and lecturer for one Bachelor course “Impianti Industriali e Gestione della Produzione” at Politecnico di Milano. She is member of AIDI, IFIP W.G. 5.7 and IFIP W.G. 5.1 scientific communities. Within the IFIP W.G. 5.7. community, she is co-leader of the Special Interest Group on Eco-efficient and Circular Industrial Systems.

Research
The research area of Federica Acerbi mainly relates to sustainable and circular operations management of manufacturing companies. Specifically, Circular Manufacturing and Sustainable Manufacturing integrated with the digital transformation opportunities charcaterise the main interests of her research studies and projects. Her research is deployed through both EU-funded research projects and industrial-oriented projects.
