When to apply

The main call for applications opens once a year, usually in the spring for the full-time format, with further calls throughout the year: see this link for more information.

For the Executive format, the application and eligibility checks are always active.

Application period

The PhD academic year begins in November.

The application period for each new PhD cycle begins with the annual call for applications, which runs from mid-May to June.

After the annual call for applications, there may be a number of additional calls for PhD positions with fellowships related to specific research topics. Applicants to these additional calls will be enrolled in the current doctoral cycle.

How to apply

In order to be admitted to the Doctorate in Industrial Engineering (DRIG), candidates must apply through a competitive selection process.

Admission to the programme is limited to a pre-determined number of candidates, based on the number of scholarships available, in order to ensure the optimal development of each candidate and to further enrich the learning and research process of the group.

For further details and to apply, please consult the page Calls and Regulations - Doctoral studies.

Knowledge English

Knowledge of English is required; for admission you must submit one of the certificates listed in the admission criteria by the end of October if you have not already done so by the closing date for applications.

Failure to submit the certificates by the deadline will result in the irrevocable loss of the right to enrol. Certificates are valid regardless of their date of issue.

Citizens of countries where English is the official language are not required to provide evidence of their knowledge of English, nor are candidates who have obtained or will obtain an academic qualification from an institution where teaching is conducted entirely in English.

In this case, candidates must enclose official documentation with their application; in particular, if all courses are taught in English, appropriate certification from the relevant academic institution is required.

Scholarships

Applications may be submitted for different types of scholarships, which are categorised as follows:

General Scholarship (annual call)

  • Elective research in Ingegneria Gestionale
  • Oriented research in Ingegneria Gestionale
  • Thematic scholarship, which include interdisciplinary fellowships (additional calls).

Under "Open calls" you can see the number of doctoral scholarships in Management Engineering.
