Researcher

Elisa Negri is Senior Assistant Professor in the Manufacturing Group of the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering. She is Professor of the BSc Course “Industrial Plants Management” (10 CFU) and of the PhD course “Data Modelling and Analysis for Complex Systems” (1 CFU) at Politecnico di Milano and is Core Faculty member at the POLIMI Graduate School of Management. She is Scientific Coordinator of the Extended Partnership “MICS” (Made In Italy - Circular and Sustainable). She researches on smart manufacturing and digital technologies for manufacturing, spanning from the data modelling for the manufacturing systems to the advanced simulation and digital twins, to support production planning and control activities. She is active in International Scientific Communities, serving as Vicechair for the Social Media of IFAC TC5.1 and as Associate Editor of the International Scientific Journal Flexible Services and Manufacturing. She is also active in project review within the European Science Foundation funding programmes. By now she is co-author of 20+ papers in International Journals, 40+ papers presented at international conferences and 6 international book chapters.

Research

The research activities and projects by Elisa Negri relate to the impact on production planning and control of smart manufacturing and the digital technologies of the Industry 4.0.


Moreover, she is interested in understanding the production benefits brought by the use of innovative data models and structures, such as ontologies, applied both to the planning side and to the control side of the production planning and control cycle.
