AI REDGIO 5.0 is a key initiative driving the next wave of digital transformation for European manufacturing SMEs, building on the successes of AI REGIO under the I4MS programme.

As industry shifts toward the principles of Industry 5.0—emphasizing human-centric, sustainable, and resilient innovation—AI REDGIO 5.0 focuses on scaling and aligning regional Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) with EU strategic initiatives like Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and key infrastructures such as EDIHs (European Digital Innovation Hubs), AI Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), and Data Spaces. The project strengthens DIH governance, expands the AI toolkit for SMEs, and enhances experimentation capabilities across 14 Vanguard regions through testbeds and Didactic Factories.

AI REDGIO 5.0 also promotes ethical and trustworthy AI, championing open-source, European-based edge-to-cloud technologies.

By reinforcing regional collaboration and providing practical tools and resources, the project ensures SMEs are equipped to adopt advanced AI solutions and thrive in a value-driven, competitive Industry 5.0 landscape.
