Mattia Olive is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Management, Politecnico di Milano. He is also a Researcher at the Digital Health Observatory. His main research interests concern digital transformation — in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine and Electronic Health Records— and its effects on the work of health professionals.
Career
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management and a Master’s degree in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations from Bocconi University, and a PhD in Management Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano.
Research
He began his research career at the Digital Health Observatory, where he continues to conduct empirical studies on digital transformation in healthcare from organizational, technological, and managerial perspectives. His work follows a practice-oriented approach, aimed at supporting decision makers and stakeholders in shaping evidence-based strategies and interventions.
During his PhD, he investigated how digital technologies are transforming health professionals’ work, exploring the evolution of coordination and collaboration mechanisms, the redefinition of roles and competences, and the shifting balance among professional groups.
His research lies at the intersection of Organization Studies, Information Systems, and Innovation Management, with an interdisciplinary perspective on digital change in professional work. He also collaborates with scientific societies and professional associations in the medical, nursing, and psychotherapy domains, promoting joint research initiatives that bridge academic insight and professional practice.
