Scotti Francesco

Researcher

Francesco Scotti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on the application of econometric and network theory approaches to assess the impact of public policies at the intersection of economic, social, environmental, and innovation domains. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals such as Energy Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Economic Modelling, and Journal of Regional Science. He received his Ph.D. in Data Analytics and Decision Sciences (cum laude) from Politecnico di Milano and held visiting and teaching positions at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Cambridge University.

Research

Francesco Scotti’s research focuses on evaluating the impact of European and national public policies, with a particular emphasis on green and digital transitions, territorial resilience, and innovation. His methodological approach combines spatial econometrics and network theory to study the allocation and effectiveness of policy interventions. He also collaborates on applied research projects with public institutions, private companies, and European bodies, including the European Commission (InvestEU program).
