Associate Professor
Emanuela Rondi is Associate Professor of Strategy and Family Business at the Department of Management Engineering of the School of Management at the Politecnico di Milano. Her research focuses on family business, family and corporate governance, generational coexistence and transition, and the role of next generations in the entrepreneurial continuity and transformation of family businesses. She is also involved in international research projects on skills development in family offices and the creation of sustainable value in entrepreneurial families. Her teaching activity focuses on family business management and circular economy.
Career
Before joining the Politecnico di Milano, Emanuela Rondi obtained a Master's degree in Management Engineering and a PhD in Management from Lancaster University (United Kingdom). She began her academic career as a researcher at the Free University of Bolzano and subsequently held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Bergamo.
Research
Emanuela Rondi's research focuses on strategy and innovation in family businesses, entrepreneurial families, and family offices. Her studies examine how families that own and manage businesses and assets develop strategies for continuity and renewal, addressing the challenges of governance, generational succession, and the transfer of entrepreneurial skills between generations. The results of her work are published in high-profile international scientific journals and contribute to the dialogue between academia, businesses, and institutions on the role of entrepreneurial families in creating economic and social value.
Her work has been published in leading scientific journals, including Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Family Business Strategy, and Strategic Organization. He contributes to the Editorial Review Board of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Family Business Strategy, SAGE Business Case, and Pearson Management & Marketing Case.

Emanuela Rondi is actively involved in serving the scientific and professional community in the field of family businesses and family offices. She is Chair of the Research and Development Program and Board Member of IFERA – International Family Enterprise Research Academy. She is also Academic Coordinator of the Next Gen community of Family Business Network International (FBNi).
She is also Coordinator of International Research at the Family Office Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, member of the Scientific Committee of the Centre for Young and Family Enterprises (CYFE) at the University of Bergamo (Italy), affiliated with the Centre for Family Business Management at the Free University of Bolzano (Italy), and member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Family Enterprise Centre at Taylor's University (Malaysia).
