INCENTIVISE5.0 - INcentivising Change and Empowering Transformative Innovative Value chains and Inclusive Sustainability in Energy intensive industries

The INCENTIVISE5.0 project supports European energy-intensive industries (EIIs) in addressing the challenges of decarbonization, resource scarcity and industrial competitiveness by promoting the adoption of Industry 5.0 principles. The project aims to encourage a more sustainable, resilient and people-centered industrial transformation while strengthening European competitiveness and strategic autonomy.

To this end, the project will develop practical tools and methodologies to guide companies through this process. These will include Compass 5.0, an operational framework for integrating the Industry 5.0 approach, and the I5.0 RoX (Return on X) model. The latter will enable investment impacts to be assessed not only in economic terms, but also in social, environmental, and organisational terms. Fifty companies from ten energy-intensive industrial sectors will be involved in the activities.

Coordinated by Innoglobal Research, the project brings together research partners, universities, industrial clusters and European organisations, including TNO (the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), SINTEF AS, Technische Universität Dortmund, A.SPIRE, Workplace Innovation Europe CLG, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Politecnico di Milano.

The research group from the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano will contribute to the coordination of efforts, the development of the Industry 5.0 framework and assessment tools, and stakeholder engagement. They will also contribute to the dissemination and transfer of results. The project will produce sector-specific roadmaps and recommendations to support the adoption of Industry 5.0 across major European industrial sectors.
