GreenDiLT - Green Digital Learning and Teaching
Website's Project
GreenDiLT - Green Digital Learning and Teaching is an Erasmus+ project focused on assessing and reducing the environmental impact of digital technologies used in educational contexts.
Coordinated by Arts et Métiers (France), the project brings together a consortium of leading European institutions:
- Politecnico di Milano (Italy)
- TU Delft (Netherlands)
- AgroParisTech (France)
- École des Ponts ParisTech (France)
The project addresses several pressing challenges: the increasing use of digital technologies in education is driving significant changes in teaching and learning practices. At the same time, sustainable development and the energy crisis have become strategic priorities for educational institutions, which are increasingly committed to transitioning toward more sustainable and energy-efficient training models.
Together, the GreenDiLT partners are working to equip the educational community with practical tools and resources to promote the sustainable use of digital technologies in higher education, including:
- A sustainability assessment toolkit to evaluate the environmental footprint of digital teaching and learning practices
- Awareness-raising workshops for students, faculty, staff, and the broader educational community
- A modular “à la carte” training program offering strategies to reduce the ecological impact of digital technologies in education
- A white paper, "Towards Digital Sobriety", compiling best practices for encouraging sustainable digital behaviours at both individual and institutional levels
