The SETS project starts with e-skills training

The SETS (Social Economy Transition Skills) training project, which is part of the Horizon Europe CSA programme 'Green and digital skills and training needs for a just transition', has officially started. The Department of Management Engineering won this project in 2023.
The project aims to support, test and plan digital skills development modules and strategies within social economy organisations.
This project aligns with the European Commission's vision of the 'Twin Transition', supporting the modernisation of production processes through the development of sustainable and digitally advanced solutions for society and its industries.
The 24-month project will develop training from two perspectives: first, training for cooperatives, social enterprises, and the non-profit sector; and second, training for ICT solution providers' trainers and digital capacity-building actors on the specifics of the social economy. This will encourage mutual cross-fertilisation between social economy organisations and technical trainers on identity issues in the social economy.
As the only university within the consortium, the Politecnico di Milano will first conduct research on WP2, analysing skills gaps and developing training models (WP3), before piloting and testing these with the various organisations and partners involved. Successful modules will be formalised through certification.
Mario Calderini and Francesco Gerli, from the Department of Management Engineering, are the researchers involved in this skills development project to date.
The project leader is Diesis Network (Belgium). The other partners are All Digital AISBL (Belgium), Open Impact Srl (Italy), Social Good Accelerator (France), Fundacija za izboljševanje zaposlitvenih možnosti Prizma ustanova (Slovenia) and the European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Belgium).
