Stefano Elia, Ph.D. in Ingegneria Gestionale, è Professore Associato.
È stato “Dunning Visiting Fellow” presso l’Università di Reading, “Visiting Research Fellow” presso l’Università di Leeds e “Marie Curie Fellow” presso la Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Ha partecipato al progetto statunitense '“Offshoring Research Network”, al progetto europeo “POREEN on Partnering Opportunities between Europe and China” e alla COST Action europea “The Emergence of Southern Multinationals and their impact on Europe”. È project leader nell'ambito di un partenariato esteso del PNRR e membro di un progetto PRIN-PNRR.
Ha pubblicato su numerose riviste internazionali, tra cui Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of World Business, Journal of Economic Geography, Economic Geography, International Business Review, Journal of International Management, Management International Review, Industry & Innovation e Journal of Business Research.

I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano: le multinazionali dei paesi emergenti, l’offshoring e il reshoring di attività di servizi e manifatturiere, la microfondazione e l’economia comportamentale applicate all'international business, le tecnologie digitali e l’internazionalizzazione, nonché la resilienza e la sostenibilità nell'international business.
