Il Dott. Jinhua Xiao è Ricercatore (Assistant Professor) presso il Politecnico di Milano, in Italia. Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Ingegneria attraverso un programma congiunto tra l'Université de Technologie de Compiègne e l'ENS Paris-Saclay. Ha pubblicato oltre 50 articoli di ricerca, depositato più di 10 brevetti e contribuito allo sviluppo di 3 standard industriali. Il Dott. Xiao ha partecipato alla progettazione e allo sviluppo di attrezzature per le prime linee produttive per il riciclo di batterie agli ioni di litio a fine vita, risolvendo diverse criticità tecniche fondamentali. Attualmente è membro di diverse organizzazioni professionali, tra cui il Comitato Professionale per le Fabbriche Intelligenti della China Society for Graphics e l'Alleanza Industriale Francese. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca includono la collaborazione uomo-robot, lo smantellamento intelligente e l'applicazione dell'intelligenza artificiale nella produzione industriale. Insegna corsi come "Tecnologia Industriale", "PLM", ecc. Ricerca

La ricerca del Dott. Jinhua Xiao si concentra sui sistemi di produzione intelligenti e sostenibili, principalmente attraverso due filoni interconnessi. Il primo è incentrato sulla Produzione Additiva (AM), dove investiga gli standard per lo scambio di dati (come STEP-NC), la modellazione delle informazioni e il ragionamento basato sulla conoscenza per potenziare il flusso digitale e prevedere le prestazioni del componente. Il secondo filone principale affronta la rimanifattura e il riciclo sostenibili, con un'enfasi particolare sulle batterie per veicoli elettrici. Il suo lavoro sviluppa una pianificazione intelligente dello smontaggio utilizzando reti bayesiane dinamiche, apprendimento per rinforzo e Q-learning per l'allocazione dei compiti nella collaborazione uomo-robot (HRC). Egli affronta le sfide degli ambienti di smontaggio incerti e dinamici per ottimizzare il recupero delle risorse. La sua ricerca integra l'intelligenza artificiale avanzata, incluse le reti neurali grafiche e i sistemi multi-agente, per creare framework produttivi basati sul digital twin e collaborativi cloud-edge, colmando il divario tra modelli digitali e produzione fisica per processi industriali più intelligenti, efficienti e rispettosi dell'ambiente.
