Irene Roda is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and she holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering.

She is Director of the Observatory on Technologies and Services for Maintenance of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano.

She is member of the IFIP TC5 WG 5.7 Advances in Production Management Systems and co-leader of the Special Interest Group on “Product and Asset Lifecycle Management” at the IFIP TC5 WG 5.7.

She is Book Reviews Editor of the International Journal Production Planning & Control: The Management of Operations, Taylor & Francis.

Ricerca

Irene Roda's main research and teaching areas are related to industrial Asset Life Cycle Management, Industry 4.0, Maintenance management and Operations management. In particular:

  • strategic decision-making for value-based industrial Asset Management (development and application of supporting tools and engineering methodologies for value-based AM decision-making (Total cost of ownership, Lifecycle cost, SAMP, Value framework));
  • Advanced Maintenance Management and Engineering of Complex Systems ( Maintenance within Industry 4.0, Data-driven decision-making for maintenance, Spare parts management);
  • End of Life management of industrial assets;
  • Smart and Sustainable Operations management.

Her research and consultancy activities regard the production sector (manufacturing and process production) but also infrastructure (energy distribution, railways, water treatment etc.).
