Sara Giarola is Research Fellow at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.

She models implications of uncertainty on feasibility in climate economic models (Integrated Assessment Models, IAMs) using machine learning techniques.

More specifically, she develops emulators of IAMs to give evidence of input-output dependencies and separate the IAM model uncertainty from the parametric uncertainty.

Before Politecnico di Milano, she worked at Imperial College London, where she was a Research Fellow in Sustainable Gas at the Sustainable Gas Institute, and later joined the Chemical Engineering Department.
