Professore Associato

Elena Tappia, Ph.D., is Associate Professor, currently teaching course of Operation Management Laboratory at Politecnico di Milano and Logistics Management within Master programs at POLIMI Graduate School of Management.

She is also the Director of the Contract Logistics Observatory.

Her research focusses on the design of Automated Warehouses and Logistics systems, Contract Logistics and eCommerce Logistics.

Her work has been published in various leading international journals.

Ricerca

Her primary research interests focus on Logistics and Warehousing, specifically the design and management of:

  • automated warehousing systems;
  • logistics service provider business models;
  • global distribution logistics strategies;
  • and multi- and omni-channel logistics systems.

The research is conducted by paying particular attention to both the economic and environmental perspectives, and by using various research approaches, both quantitative and qualitative.
